The Place
down to the place in my heart
where the homeless
and the loneliness finds a bed
a place to stay
that for a while unlocks the cage
and let’s out a smile
it’s not my age this position
i have always been this way
just living by the clock
it’s not my childhood,
i packed that away in a bin bag
and then i hid it in the loft,
so down to the place where inside –
i am not seeking a blanket
i know i am slightly out of my league
but in you,
i truly do believe
