Years of My Life – Written Monday 19th February 2024 (Aged 48)

Years of My Life

spoke a good game,
as i,
scribbled my name
and spent the years of my life
doubling down on shame
arranging scenes
with chalk like frames
every person,
with a false claim
built a house,
and then never complained
as i,
scribbled my name
and spent years of my life
catching droplets of rain
doubling down on the pain –
that was always enticing me –
to wander down memory lane
and all those people,
who came along with false fame
left me,
with holding bays in my brain
