Ice Cream Dreams – Written Saturday 19th August 2023 (aged 48)

Ice Cream Dreams

i think i am over emotional
but wait,
i need to ask and expert
and what does that even mean,
maybe it’s just me,
maybe it’s my mise-en-scène
because today there is a flood,
if not a tsunami of feeling
did they –
ever get my true meaning?
in fact,
did i?
i think i am over emotional
but wait,
i need to ask an expert
quite how that works out,
when i’m not sure if the medical model
really knows what all this is about
maybe, trauma is in with a shout?
i know,
i am over emotional
but the world to me –
has always been so keenly felt
it’s why my ice cream dreams –
so easily melt
it’s why i tried to piece my life together
using only sticky back felt
so if i am over emotional,
hold me up and together just like a belt
