Does This Fit
doing well… (whatever that means!)
it feels like new clothes,
the kind where everyone says,
looks good and suits you
but to you,
you are not even sure the clothes fit
or if they feel right
success then,
something that feels a bit too tight
or maybe, it’s the colours and patterns
that do not feel like you
it can feel hard to be accountable
and responsibility can take longer to chew
the prison building,
is only ever fashioned from self view
i never wanted to stand out
yet i’ve demanded to be noticed
i claimed no political agenda,
yet i eagerly voted
so, do these clothes i now wear really fit
is this new suit just too big
you cannot have your cake and eat it
or from the jug take just one sip
