Curved Claw – Written Wednesday 2nd January 2024 (Aged 48)

Curved Claw

lost to selfishness –
the type that lays down on your doorstep
the type,
that scratches at your door
childhood,
responding to the softest paw
living life,
but trapped by the curved claw
what can I do?
what can i do to quell my need –
that hunts down my darker parts
and upon those,
it often feeds
i am gentle,
by my gentle needs the anger to leave
and this is my turret,
my point, or my shabby view
but too often i am lost to selfishness –
in those times of need
i cannot help or hold back the frustration –
which paws at you –
and demands to be let in
but i try so hard to shut the door
living life,
trapped by the curved claw
with the threat of collapse
but with the balance of personality
the type that will keep me on track
