Disrupted

what war are you trying to win?
what resistance
are you trying to break?
what land
are you trying to take?
what brave new world
are you hoping to make?

what are you hoping to achieve
by stirring up hate?
why is nihilism
so tied to your fate?
why must you feed so many lies
and smash every plate?

what place are you trying to own?
why must the future
be so bleak and so alone?
why must hope
be disowned?
why must individuals
be ideological clones?

why must change
be left to roam?
what war are you trying to win?
what do you hope to achieve?
why has sanity
suddenly taken leave?

i wonder, really,
what is it you actually believe?
to me, it is anger and control
and not a thing to believe.
what nightmare
are you hoping to achieve?
