It’s Not Where We Belong
we appear to live in a culture –
which is no good for our brains
we have lions tamers –
who themselves are not tame
and i would not clock in –
because the robustness of our leaders
has the toughness of cheap tin
but that, that is where we are
tribal,
especially in larger organisations
aggressive by nature –
adding spikes to every conversation
and i wonder why we carry on
it must be the lure of capitalism
but i know it’s not where we belong
we live in cultures no good for our brains
and as my decades start to stack up
i just paint similar pictures in similar frames
watching those who cannot lead
but nonetheless here we are
and it seems we must just carry on
it may be something deeply perverse
but i know it’s know where we belong
