The Beginning to Every End
you make my heart smile
you are the cabinet maker
for my precious files
you are my hands and feet
a friend in bar room brawls
every lampost on my street
my transport,
when all i can do is crawl
you make my jokes laugh
you are a tonic
when i am close to the bins
you make my heart smile
when it could sink in gin
you are the lawn,
not just the space outside
your reflection,
is caught in all of my tides
the beach, the land, the coast
you are the serial i always watch
you are the toast,
and the time on my clocks
you make my heart smile
and when for a while clouds –
fall too low
we are the galley
with accomodation down below
you are my folly
but one made good with purpose
i am sure we are the tiles
the best friends,
you make my heart smile
we are the beginning to every end
