Empire Crumbles
Everything is economic:
the fall of empires,
capitalism.
It crumbles with a free-market spit.
But he—
he does not recognise this,
or understand the problem.
You—
it’s true—
it’s not now, but economically,
capitalism has turned to screws.
And now,
with years of increasing wealth—
of wealthy individuals and corporations,
with years of free markets
offering no solutions—
the con man in charge
perfects his illusion.
It’s the fall of empires:
profits and profits.
Cheap labour
is the bedrock of capitalism.
Cheap wages are its fuel.
But he is not the answer:
a con man,
a psychopath,
chancer,
an ill-educated, uncouth dancer.
He is not the answer,
but people will believe he is—
until the empire finally crumbles.
And even then,
it’s unlikely
that he will be truly rumbled.
