The challenge, the new challenge,
it does excite me.
And the lifting of barriers and weights,
it is enticing.
But I am tired.
I’m so very tired.
Mentally exhausted.
People’s lack of regulation
goes right through me
and is always caustic.
Abrasive to the extreme.
Of course, I know
people are just people.
But characters can be so defined
by certain cultures.
And it doesn’t have to be
pots of poison,
above which are circling vultures.
But what I know, what I know,
just me,
seemingly not so full of surprise.
Everything I think of these days
clambers up
and then feels so high-rise.
