from side to side
occasionally i find –
pools in another persons eyes

she is church
the holy where i am
she is miracle
the true promised land

this is not the time
to drown in ice cool drinks
or shatter,
cheap dust laden mirrors

we talked about –
fate and destiny
till about two,
then i left my body
but i have never left you

they do not know my truth
but they took a guess anyway
what could i say
i would romance their loneliness

back to the old house
with its new white door
i know it was sometime ago
but it was not like that before
