Finding Happiness

seems like
i got in the way of a life plan
if only –
you would try and understand
if only –
you would stop preaching from the pulpit
from your church;
with its insecure steeple
if only –
you would start listening to people
i tried with it all
the mistakes I have made are many
but I only ever – 
tried to find that contentment
and the happiness you wanted.
