Fuel in the Tank

Fuel in the Tank

it is the look in their eyes
but I do not have
the fuel in the tank
to take us down straights
and corners so banked
it is the look in their eyes
it takes us to bed
before it is has actually happened
i try to claim
that i know what i am 
looking for
but that clashes with my view
of embracing an uncertain future
and she offers so much
a nature of absolute trust
but I do not know
if i have enough fuel in the tank
and I wish I did
but I think my belief has sank
and for purpose it is barely fit
so I step on the crank
and dive to retrieve it
i know it is the look in their eyes
