Goal

Goal

i lost my goal
i lost someone to hold
let them slip right through my fingers
what is worse, although they are gone
the memories still linger
kicking me in,
kicking me again and again
like my dreams at night
never going away
beating me to the floor
whilst i am trying to make a dash,
for the door
but i got older
and started to suss things a little
started to realise
a little of what is going on
a little of what people mean
and i found my goal
working damn hard to get there
it concerned me,
more than other people
but i did not stop working
i worked damned hard
because i was fed up of hurting
i started to achieve something
i came in from the cold
and found my goal
