There’s a Chance
there’s a chance
we may make it today
if it doesn’t happen
i will just go back to bed
if things don’t go my way
i will imagine they did
and get upset for what could have been
there’s a chance
today will be a dream
but it may never happen
we may not be able to visualise
things may remain the wrong shape
unable to realise
what fate has taken
because we never had its gifts
but i won’t drown in sorrow
today may not work out
but there’s a chance for tomorrow
but you never know
everything may go our way
there’s a chance
we may make it today
and i am prepared to think ahead
thought i won’t pray
i will just go back to bed
and spend a few hours inside my head
it is of no consequence
there’s always a chance
