People Just Want to Belong

is it a surprise
that people
just want to belong
that the greatest slight
is rejection
and a feeling that you do not fit
the unsettling idea
no matter irrational
that there is no place for you
in the systems around you
discrimination and oppression
is a personal recession
you,
can see rejection in every –
angry rant
every, blaming others tirade
people,
just want to belong
they do not have to admit it
and that sense of rejection
when –
you were told inclusion is a right
and would be guaranteed
is the mess
that starts to feed
