When Did They Stop Colouring In?

they painted themselves,
in such vivid colours
only to end up
in a life of black and white
younger,
colours that could certainly fetch
but now,
it is just the respect
what happened?
where did the painting end?
when did every photograph
end up,
being black and white
no matter,
what filter or effect is applied
we used to be so close
when you did that thing,
it came to an end
i remember bits and bobs
odd and ends,
being much more than just friends
but always close
when did a colourful painted person
stop colouring in,
when did this loss really begin?
