Stab in the Back
the knife is a glint in their smile
and a look in their eyes
they will be your friend
before they hope you die
stabbed in the back
from behind a veil of tears they cry
the friendship they portray
is just a callous lie
they have got dubious intent
their word to you –
are hollow and rarely meant
the knife is held tight
with one arm ready to attack
they still smile bitter sweet
as they stab you in the back
and tell you it is okay
the smile smiles so sickly
as they patter with their speak
and the blood runs thickly
do you turn the other cheek?
