What Do You Have to Show?

stealing from a feeling
left on the doorstep looking grand
taken out for a meal for two
but you are the only one
so what do you do?
stealing from a beggar
not to much sugar
things can get so sweet you know
shivering in the living room
as the cold crept in
told a story by somebody else
but where do you begin
like a person in a new town
the face remain perplexed
but take a look around
and be gently impressed
caught in the flow that will not go
everything gathered
and what do you have to show?
