Soft Touch Me

I am not that person
but then, I find I am
what do I understand
my self perception
seems like peerless direction
they look at me
and say words
that I hope will bounce off me
in fact, they stab me
or they stick to my being
how can I not be
such a thing of easy feeling?

I am not that person
but then, I find that I am
I thought after so many years
I would know my hands
my self perception
seems out of touch
the tumble of my words
starts to feel a little rough
I feel like I have a wound
from the gentlest touch
