Parents Should do Much Better

no one should
leave you
with a childhood
you spend a lifetime
recovering from
and fixing
contemplating and remixing

no parent
should leave you
with scars
and a social limp
no childhood should be a hang up
which you find to difficult
to resolve
parents
should do much better

adulthood
should not be one long angry letter
sent to a childhood
that fell apart at the seams
and with a volume
of sad sounding screams
childhood
should be fuelled by hope and boundless dreams
