Young Persons Stumble

i am sorry
but it is day to day
functionality
it is a certain reality
no duality
but my responsibilities
remain no less
but this is my age
once, it was nights barely dressed
a lost person
i hardly caressed
one club to another
i had a young persons stumble
settees were comfortable
and witness to fumbles
but those days
are long in the past
shadows are now cast
and my shadow has leaked,
seeped
and remains demented
when she was here…
i would do up my laces
and choose my daily faces
i love you no less
despite my personal unholy mess
