Ankle Socks
you know,
this life thing,
it is difficult,
right?
you understand
no manual
or blueprinted plans
i covered my life
in words and letters
i fed my worries
metaphors to make it better
i copied languages
and reinvented hopeful copies
i abandoned
the laws and regulations
that taught me about soap
i learned the pleasures
of making keys and burning rope
you know,
this life thing
they cannot fit it into a box
that is why,
they make us wear ankle socks
