Do We Pass Around Harm?
in my mind
i was the great caregiver
reaching out
to save the world
like a supercharged prophet
in reality
i was a box of broken glass
reaching out to others
with a stretched arm
asking, are we the same?
do we pass around the harm?
in my mind
shadows danced rhythmically
within my imagination
toiling day after day
to fashion new situations
like a middle earth fantasy
shorn of its fine writing
and exciting language
i was not the caregiver
but the child needing care
in the box of delights
each layer is separated by what we share
