The Drop of a Hat
she falls at the drop of a hat
a cure for cancer –
may well come along
but a cure for loneliness
won’t come along so quick
as she sits in a mess
she falls at the drop of a hat
that higher understanding
that need to pair
to get things done
well, i care a great deal
but i am never going to be the one
that is just the way i feel
a cure for cancer –
will one day probably be found
but a cure for loneliness
will remain elusive
it will always be around
it’s as cold as a three storey heart
without a thing inside
with years of disaster
that does not equate to, happy ever after
she falls at the drop of a hat
well i never dropped mine
that is what she will never find
