Understanding Just Got Jilted

you speak to me
but the conversation is stilted
you make no attempt to engage
i think understanding just got jilted
you do not have enough manners
even though, you ask to speak to me
you do not think i matter enough
to actually find out about me
and,
that is just rude…

you claim that you are lonely
but in truth, can you be surprised?
it is true, you are beautiful
and works of art never match your eyes
but you just giving nothing out
and if you are shipwrecked –
only to find –
you are just clinging to fear
you need to give out a little more
if you want that special person near
