Finished Before it Starts – Wednesday 8th February 2011

Finished Before it Starts

i am waving at the train
i watch you depart
in your suitcase
is an aching heart
and a notion –
of something that could not start
but these days,
have steel walls
so i am not so easily torn apart
i have romanced –
what amounts to –
the loveliest door to door
saleswomen –
each convincing me
that their love is the best
only to see –
that it is worthless
i stand at my door –
leaning on its frame
i do look cynical
but it is better than going insane
so as your train departs
i just think, here we go again
finished before it starts
