Grand Design

i just need that company
something –
better than the insanity
that has built a –
grand design
in my mind, in my life
a screw is loose
and it should be tight
i just need that smile
to light every candle –
on my birthday cake
you could have the handle –
to the smile on my face
i saw someone –
cling to the flame of a life
that had only ever –
seen the colours of the night
i just need that company
something –
better than the roulette –
that plays out as a –
grand design
