let’s talk about love
i will make the cream soda
with ice cream on top
you tell me about the last time
you had to chase –
you heart down –
someone else’s street
the last time –
someone swept you off your feet
let’s talk about coming home
how a light switch turned off –
can make you feel alone
how with the heating off –
it does not feel like home
and tell me –
how your dreams like to roam
coming back to you –
with stories of riches
let’s talk about love
perched at a table –
that seems almost too high
i dropped my personal fables
let’s look deep inside
