On The Run – November 1996

On The Run

soon they got my books
my diaries were stolen
it is a majestic land
of super imposed religion
i would rather have a cup of tea
if you give me a chance
i will try the hardest to be me
which you will soon see,
is just a scratch on reality
they got your brains,
but you ate more than them
and had a stronger frame
mind traps catch a weaker thing
so be careful
when you are trying to be everything
they got my words
but they could not believe they were real
they thought i was out of it
pretentious and surreal
but this is my work,
and you are really there
soon they had us both
they told us not to be together
but by alienating us,
they only ever did exactly that
isn’t that funny?
they thought they had us
but they never really will
really, they never will
