You Were Human
i miss you
but you are not here
to hear that
to be told
to gather us up
in one final hold
i miss her
and memories
can never be lent
that is why she
has become past tense
funny,
that even as –
an unconventional –
sometimes difficult mother
you were human
and i would not have swapped you for another
