Confusion – Written Friday 7th March 1997 (Aged 22)

Confusion

confusion is an illusion
that escapes us in the rain
whilst the children wear coats
and the things of change
confusion is a vision
of being scared in the future
just as sure as life is a tutor
no more days at school
confusion is an unbroken rule
no more days on the phone
confusion is an illusion
and worse when the night is all alone
catching each other
confusion is lacing –
every situation we are facing
no hesitation just confusion
which is an illusion for us all
if it escapes us in the rain
we will not fall, no not at all
confusion is bigger than both of us
certainly as wide as it is tall
confusion is everything we do
confusion is real but cruel
