It Has Been a Long Time

it has been a long time
and sometimes,
you can never be sure –
why you do something
the leap can be too great
sometimes you just need a chance
some kind of fate
learning is hard
and what is learnt –
sometimes is hard to see
it has been a long time
and is was not that good for me
and sometimes,
you creep across a field
trying to avoid the mines
it has been a long time
but now it has been done
i can head home
away from the this unforgiving sun
