You Preach As a Bird – Written May 2005 (Aged 30)

You Preach As a Bird

you preach –
as a bird
with its wings clipped
they were not clipped by him
or even me,
only by you
you could set yourself free
you preach –
and you judge
but never step forward to be counted
you never hear what anyone says
even when it is shouted
you preach –
as a bird
who sought a nest
high from the natural floor
but you know,
you have become so bored
