Underpinned

you told me
i never show emotions
funny that,
as emotions
and the extremes
have always underpinned me
i will talk about anything you want
but it is sometimes hard to hear
and the way you say thing
does not pull me near
you told me,
i never show emotions
i am an emotional extreme
and if you want my emotions
see me as a human being
i am not ill or somehow sick
granted, i do not always make sense
but i am fighting fit
i do not have a father’s inheritance
you get out,
what you put in
put people in boxes
and you will never be close to human beings
you told me,
i never show emotions
i wish the irony was less
because i was not told to my face
i had to read it in a text
