The Key
i would like to find the key
that unlocks the door to my mind
so i found the telephone book
and then i found my telephone
and i decided to take a look
the key has a place that is missed
so i found numbers to call
and i called a local locksmith
i said in my politest tone,
i need a key to unlock the doors
which are the ones for the rooms in my mind
i need to know what lies behind
and i have been looking for years
but no key that fits can i find
the locksmith just laughed
they said, i cannot give you that key
there was a pause,
as they thought long and hard
i said i just want to know within me
i said, i am sure i did once
but somehow, when drinking time, i forgot
the locksmith could not give me the key
and he could not even open pandora’s box
i guess there are things we should not see
so i put down the receiver on the loved,
and the lonely
