All The Time – Written December 1994 (Aged 19)

All The Time

all the time
we work for nothing
must be getting something
we are born into a world
which we say is a special place
from the moment of delivery,
there is crying
because you have got to put on,
a different face
if you don’t, it is hard to get very far
in this so called special place
it seems it is a crime,
to be who you are
all the time we speak
and people always say we should speak
so few people have the guts,
to stand up on their own
it is easy to follow the crowd
the world makes you weak
in this so called special place
so few people have the courage,
to stand on their own two feet
