Autism

autism
has never really played the part
nor the role you gave it
in your life

autism
you needed to explain the pain
that you feel
it is hard, if not impossible
to just explain it away

autism
has never really been the role
that you made it out to be
but when you are chained to your demons
it is easy to long for freedom

autism
not me, not father
not brother or daughter
how i wish something stable
had once caught you
and given you the love of which you are not able
