Could I Have saved the Boy?
it is hard on me –
travelling back
to the years gone by
it is hard on me –
as i wipe away emotions –
from younger eyes
i look back and i wonder –
could i have saved,
the boy,
who wanted so badly to be made
i have a life
i have won a life
i have made a life
but it was not always easy
somewhere, back there in the past
when i thought,
the dye was cast
when i thought –
sadness would somehow always last
when i hauled myself to the future
but i was weighed down by the past
it is hard on me –
travelling back –
to years gone by
