When Walls Close In
when walls close in
when the ties tighten
i have to examine
every room in my mind
it is just peace and quiet
that i want to find
i have to admit
she caught my eye
but it was only ever
in another life
right now it is all so haunted
and it is a fight
when walls close in
i close my eyes
and hope it all goes away
i will walk with the smile
i will talk, just for a while
maybe, with a smile
when the walls close in
when the ties tighten
be my salvation
i need to be enlightened
