The Heartache of a Mother

it is a shame
to love one more
than the other
to reject one
because of the past
because of beliefs
which should not last
which have been held
long after the dye was cast
it is a shame
to love one more
than the other
those scars
will be taken to adulthood
and knows
what damage
they will cause
it must tear those up
deep inside
to love one more
than the other
the heartache of it all
the heartache of a mother
