They Look Keen
they look keen
probably twenty five
and happy to be alive
i bet they sing
and they wear that ring
with an over excited giggle
they look keen
it is great being a grown up
the things you collect
in your new found net
they look keen
probably twenty five
and excited to be alive
getting things on their list
young and smiley
everything new and shiny
try the more rounded rocks
of windswept middle age
you work on yourself like the best sculptors
bet your know you are already made
they look keen
life is clear and they know what they mean
and all the things they have seen
probably twenty five
