Do Not Bend and Alter Your Shape – Written Thursday 9th January 2020 (Aged 44)

Do Not Bend and Alter Your Shape

if you want some advice
as i rummage through my life
and if i think about my own experiences
then all i can say,
is do not bend and alter you shape
no matter how much the wind might make you sway
if you want some advice
from these hands of soft clay
from these feet that had to learn the way
from these thoughts that have had to pay
abd do sometimes blossom in may
my advice is straightforward
do not compromise your essence
for those people who could not care less
they put the coal in the furnace
which only stokes your stress
it is hard when you stand in hailstones
and you do not feel that blessed
but in essence and try as you might
unless you can play every part
that is my world weary advice
is do not bend and alter you shape
