Little Hearts Cry

little hearts cry
just the same as big hearts
little hearts weep
just the same as big hearts
and big mouths
have the same heart
as the shy,
and those who have watched windows
as the raindrops run dry
little hearts sigh
just the same as big hearts
and those who say they are
who say they are still close
can only really watch from afar
because a heart is a heart
and it will cry without tenderness
a heart only beats when it is alive
without a beat it is loveless
and it will always die
little hearts cry
just the same as big hearts
just the same as mine
