The Sponge
the sponge is okay
they soak it all up
they help you move on
they soak up the emotion
they soak up the tears
they even something of the years
you are washed and dry
or so you think
the sponge will absorb it all
it can hide feelings you fear
it can keep you company
and cleanse you of memories
the sponge suits you
you use it still
even though you have strayed recently
the sponge does not know
just keeps on soaking it up
and the more it soaks it up
the heavier it becomes
it thinks it is their heavy heart
but squeeze your sponge
and watch that emotion fall out
so let the sponge soak it all up
i know what this is all about
