A Warning – Written Monday 26th July 1999 (Aged 24)

A Warning

It must be a warning
it must have been an omen
a guru giving me a clue
well, i can tell you
they dish out so much pain
with their eyes so glazed
the fire inside has gone out
where is their blaze?
has it been put out
by deep rooted insecurities
and pungent realities
of steady relationships
cheap holidays and dull dull weekends
is it that they bore people to death
even their workmates turned friends
it must have been an omen
i was being warned
a guru must have told me a trick
