The Female Journalist – Written Saturday 1st August 1999 (Aged 24)

The Female Journalist

the female journalist
from a music paper
i would never wish to buy
enjoys her cocaine
and she likes to be seen
enjoying and using her cocaine
she is short on brains
and high on that cocaine
the female journalist
hangs on with greasy hands
she is in a job with suspect talent
and is a friend of, ‘bands’
with a cut glass accent
of course, slightly unpolished
just for that london scene
but when she says, mummy and daddy
you know where she has been
and she writes,
but no one cares what she writes
she is in search of fame
but the reality she lives in is fake
so she alters it with cocaine
the cocaine she so readily takes
