I Kissed Our Relationship Goodbye

when the party had ended,
i kissed our relationship goodbye
i headed out into the world
living under a starlit sky
it was so cold,
and there was a tear in my eye
when the party had ended
something had ended,
you did exactly what i thought you would
and you said you were no going to
it felt so unfair,
were those feelings just for show?
when the party had ended,
i left without a word
but i kissed our relationship goodbye
i headed out into a different world
living under a starlit sky
you made me make a choice,
between the bed springs or my best friend
well, the emotional pull was strong
but i had to look after my friend
you refusal to understand,
made that choice seem all the more right
i kissed our relationship goodbye
and headed out into the starlit night
