The Scene (Originally Untitled) – Written Monday 16th August 1999 (Aged 24)

The Scene

it should have never been this way
but this is the way it is,
and this is the way it has been
i am the, ‘bad guy’ once again
but it was a bad scene,
and we were acting so bad
i am the one who is at fault
i keep the feelings locked away
only you occasionally raid the vault
i keep them saved for a rainy day
it should have never been this way
this should not have happened
the cracks were already there
and last night they became a chasm
the feelings harboured,
and it felt like a dark damp cavern
it should have never been this way
but time changes and rearranges
just about every single day
