Knee Deep in Probate

they say,
you have come back to work too early
the inference is,
it is too early,
they care and they mean well
but my grieving has been life long
and i am not diminishing the event,
or its impact
but it was hard to know or understand –
the relationship with my dad

they say,
you have come back to work too early
well, i spent one week,
maging his estate
and trying to catch some sleep
and us, again, wrapped up in probate
i am tired,
and that the emotional impact
but it was hard to know or understand
the relationship with my dad
